Smiley Face!

I managed to finally get a good shot of one of his smiles. It's funny because his smiley times are still pretty limited from about 6:00-8:00 in the morning. I guess smiling is a lot of work, and he needs his full night of sleeping to be up for the challenge. Anyway I think its super cute. He has started trying to talk a little as well.

Cubbie Bear

Yesterday I got Ben a Cubs's outfit at Walmart with some Bear Shoes. He should be ready to go for this summer! Don't think he will get to go to any games, but it's important that everyone knows where his allegience lies.

The Economist I got in the mail yesterday included a interesting survey of Chicago. It is really weird to see such an international publication mention The Metropolis in Arlington Heights and the goings on in Aurora and Naperville.

Great Dane and a new HOUSE.

Today Ben, Katherine and I went over to help Aunt Theresa move into her new house. Theresa got herself her own house-warming present of a great dane. It is seriosuly almost taller than me.



Her name is Libby and she is a real sweetheart. Moving was a lot of fun. TGirl's new place is really nice.

1 month doc appointment and portraits

Today we had Ben's one month Doc appointment and we had him "sit" for a one month portrait.

The doctor's appointment went great. He weighed in at 9 lbs 4 oz, and the doctor said his is looking great. He recommened we start giving him Polv-Vi-Sol, which we had never heard of, but is apparently standard procedure.

The portarait sitting didn't quite go according to plan. We went to WalMart, and the poor little guy was so sleepy he couldn't keep his eyes open. The photographer deserved a nice bonus as we were there for almost 90 minutes. We got three cute shots....I will post them once we receive them.

Lake Arlington

Although the weather looks terrible in the background it was a fairly nice day today. We tried out the Baby Bjorn for the first time and went once around the lake. Aunt Theresa came to. It was nice to get outside for one of our first spring days.

Two Firsts

Yesterday we got two first all in one picture.

Ben's first Baby Smile caught on camera, and he met his cousin Caroline for the first time. The Acuff family and Theresa came over for a wonderful afternoon. Carloine is very sweet.

Ben goes for a walk.

Its pretty cold in Chicago so its an adventure getting him all bundled up. His arms and legs barely even make it into his snowsuit. Its really funny that as soon as he gets outise he falls right to sleep. The cold air must do it.

It took a little bit of work to get everybody sitting still but I think the results are pretty good.

Got a nice drenching last night....so much for our understanding Ben. Don't worry I don't take it personally. Katherine says I was asking for it with my last post.

Tough Day at home

I feel bad that I was at work today. It seems like our little Ben is going through a miniature growth spurt as he was nursing every 2 hours or so. Its really hard on Katherine and I can see it in her eyes when I get home from work.

Still haven't been peed on by Benjamin while changing his diaper. All the ladies have had it happened a few times. I think that men have a certain understanding about this.

I think that Chien is a little jealous of Ben. He has stopped sleeping on his bed in our room all the time. Of course that might be that he just doesn't like being woken up every 3 hours any more than we do. We have been trying to still give him attention, but he is going to have to adjust to not being the cutest thing in the house anymore!
