Some Cute Pics

Ben Loves Abbey so much. He always wants to hold her and play with her. She is still a little unsure.

Two of Ben's Classmates (twins) had their birthday pary at Pump-It-Up. Ben got a huge kick out of the slides and he went down it the first time without either of us and without any prompting. (I think he is much braver and self-confident than either of his parents) He still got a big kick out of going down it with Mommy.

Abbey is at that age where she will try to get anything in her mouth. You have to be extra careful with her. Here is Aunt Theresa getting caught in the act. I believe DCFS wanted a word with her after this.

Stupid Science Tricks in the cold

Take one cup hot water+one -15 degree day, shake in a 30 year old child and tada....

New Chicago Sheldon Record

This is as cold as it has been since we have lived in Chicago...Amazingly it is even 10 degrees colder out where MomiDomi lives. I know my friends from Minnesota scoff at these temperatures but when it is hard to breathe it is cold...

Sledding!

Well, we got about 10 inches of snow by our house, so we decided to take advantage of the storm and have some fun! We went down to Naperville to go sledding with Cousin Caroline, Aunt Domi, and Aunt Teesa. Ben had an absolute blast! It was his first time sledding and he couldn't get enough of it. He was excited from the very start, as evidenced by this picture taken before he even went down for the first time...

Then we found a smaller hill that Ben and Caroline could go down together by themselves. As much fun as the big hill was, they preferred to go down the small hill together for the rest of the time.

They could not get up the hill fast enough to go again. They even convinced Aunt Teesa to pull them up the hill. Ben said "we're sledding UP the hill!"

We ended the adventure with two snow angels...

Uncle Brandon was nice enough to stay home and keep Abbey warm. When we got back, all the kids wanted some time with Uncle Brandon!

In other news, Abbey is now 6 months old and enjoying a variety of veggies (so far, we have peas, green beans and carrots). She seems to like all of them. She went into the doctor and now weighs in at 14 pounds 3 oz. and is 25 1/4 inches tall, which puts her in the 20-25%. She is pretty close to sitting now and is really enjoying all her toys. She also really enjoys watching Chien...except when he licks her face. I am sure she will get used to it...

Abbey's 1st's

Abbey is almost 6 months now and is getting more fun and interactive each day. She has had a lot of firsts recently that we thought we would share with you. She just started on solids in December and had her first food yesterday (other than cereal). She debuted with green beans and really seemed to like them - much better than cereal. It actually went much better than it did with Ben and green beans when he first started (he didn't like them).
Abbey's hair is finally long enough to put a bow in! She looks a little like Pebbles in this picture, but we think she's cute...

She is also getting her first tooth! She has had her hands in her mouth nonstop for a while now and been a little extra drooly, but she hasn't been cranky at all so we weren't sure how close she was to teething. Apparently it just didn't seem to bother her too much (whew!). Ben was like that too - we didn't know he was teething until the teeth showed up! So far we have been lucky in that regard.

Here is just a cute one of her and Ben playing together, which they do more and more now and it is very sweet...

Spending Time with Family/Friends

Sorry, just one more post about Christmas...

We had such a great time with the family. Ben and Abbey had fun with Patch...

And Nana and Grand Patch...
The whole family...except Grandma :( We missed you Grandma!

Some old friends from high school (and their recent additions as well).

Abbey had a great 1st Christmas!

And really liked meeting her Aunt Ginny...

Here she is on Christmas morning getting ready to open her presents from Santa!

We had such a great time. Thanks to Madgie and Patch for having us, Aunt Ginny and Uncle Chris for making the trip down, and Nana and Grand Patch for making the trip up. We miss you all and are sorry if we got you sick! Love you!
