8 month check up

Ben had his 8 month check up appointment yesterday. It turns out, Ben has had quite a growth spurt in the past 2 months - he is now 28 inches long and almost 21 pounds! He went from being in the 25% in height and 50% in weight to being in the 75% in both height and weight. BIG BOY!!!

Halloween 2006 - The First Party

So TRex came over for a little costume making and pumpkin carving. We broke out the hot glue gun for a little crafts project. Can you guess what we are making?

Its a yellow hat to go with our little Curious George

We were going to a halloween party last night so Katrina dressed up like a witch while Trex was the perfect tacky tourist.

Eeehhhhh he he he he.....She will get you her pretty!!!!

Our little monkey was playing around on the floor at the party.

Here is a quick shot of the best costume of the night.

Picture Uploads

We uploaded a bunch more pictures to order. You can take a look if you got some time to cool.

Chicago Marathon

Sunday was the big day! I had trained and practiced for so long!

I was finally ready!!!

........to steal a baby.

Well, actually to run a marathon. It was going to be too cold for Ben to watch the race so Mama Kay was going to stay with him. However, he decide to go ahead and get up at 5 so he could wish me good luck.

And here is me halfway through the race. That is not a smile, it's a grimace. I went out waaaaay to fast. I set a personal best for the half marathon for the first half of the race. Yikes!

Here is Andrewsky rocking the thunder sticks on the course.

One mile to go!!!! I ended up finishing in 3 hourse 20 minutes. A personal best!!! Yay. It was pretty painful though.

In response to a previous PablitoRun post my sisters made me a beef jerky congraluatory card. Now chien is jealous.

Later that day Ben engaged in his own marathon. 26.2 seconds of sitting!!!!

Actually he sits on his own pretty much at will now.

Restful Saturday

This past weekend was marathon weekend. So on Saturday we needed to rest up.

When we got up we ran over to Paneras to read the paper and have a cup of coffee with a little cream. (Hold the coffee for Ben). We didn't even get out of our PJ's.

Later Ben put on his monkey sweater because Mamma Kay and PaPa were on the way over.

Then we went down to the expo to pick up my race packet. Ben was absolutley enthralled with the people.

Mamma Kay was absolutely enthralled with the free stuff they were giving away! (or the stuff that they were not giving away :) )

BeanTown

My wacky wife and my even wackier sisters went to Boston over last weekend on a lark and a cheap plane flight. Here is a really pretty photo of a lighthouse on the cape.

I just wish she would get out of the way!

Daddy and Ben stayed home and worked on crawling. Lets just say he is not that interested.

Some enchanted evening.

Katherine and I had the pleasure of attending the grand re-opening of the Chicago History Museum Gala Event. (It was a special treat from Motorola for my winning of the CEO Award for Volunteerism.)

We got all dressed up in a finery and went to mingle with the upper crust.

Alex and his girlfriend also received invitations.

It was a wonderful evening.

Truly magical
