Tooth Alert!

So we think Ben is getting his first tooth finally. I felt the bump last night and if you can get his tongue out of the way for 2 seconds (which is not an easy task), you can see the start of something white popping through! He hasn't been cranky yet though, so hopefully that won't happen.

In other related Ben news, he sat for about 15 minutes last night without falling over. He sits fine, except when I sit behind him and he turns around to look at me - that gets him every time. He also sits up in his stroller now and in his high chair. In fact, feeding him has become quite a chore because he sits up in his chair and wants to look on the floor, which makes getting food into his mouth an obstacle.

Last thing, he may be in the beginning stages of separation anxiety, but we aren't sure yet. Over the past few days, he seems to get upset when we leave the room. Maybe it is just because he is tired since it has happened mostly at night after a long day at school. But this morning, he wouldn't let me get ready for work because every time I left his room to get ready, he would get upset! This is going to seriously delay our morning routine and may cause me to get up earlier, which I hate doing! We'll keep you posted, but I am hoping he has just had a few weird days....

Halloween......

So we are trying to come up with the PERFECT halloween costume for Ben. We have a super cute Pooh (Winnie that is) costume that a friend loaned to us, but we are leaning hard towards pumpkin. If you have any great suggestions post them on the comments.

(BTW....We like cute not scary, no pirates or draculas here!)

First Day Of Fall

We broke out Ben's new coat for the first day of fall. Our leaves
are starting to change so he needs it.

Game Time!

Well the football game was a total disaster, but it was a lot of fun to take Ben to see his first Notre Dame game in person.

normally I am not a huge fan of people wearing players jerseys, but this was just too cute.

The star player met up with his sweetheart cheerleader before the game.

He said a few prayers with Patch at the Grotto.

And practiced clapping with Madgie.

Good News!

I just found out that my friend Alex and I have won the 2005 Motorola CEO Award for Volunteerism. We won the award for the many hours we have put in at Ceda Northwest with the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program.

The fun part will be deciding with all the team, how the grant money might best be used. Some combination of inexpensive laptops and printers will go a looong way toward helping us serve more and more clients and helping them save more and more money and progress on their way to financial stabilty and independence.

I should add that really KatrinaRun and TRex are major parts of this award. TRex for helping as much as we did, and Kartrina for helping and for letting me spend so much time at Ceda.

The wedding.

Was one of the most beautiful we have been too. The bride and groom have been friends forever, and only "fairly" recently figured out that they were in love. (All of their friends knew though :) ) It seriously is a story from a movie. A good movie. Well a good date movie.

Ben has developed an keen eye for things he can grab. As a reader in the wedding I was wearing a boutonnière. 30 seconds after I had put it on he had managed to crush the floor and stab the pin into my chest.

Here you can see him going after the bridal bouqet. No damage done fortunately.

No snarky comment just two real cuties.

Ben has developed his father's capacity to fall asleep anywhere.

Cleveland Rocks, Cleveland Rock......

OHIO!!!!

So once again the family packed up and headed out. This time we flew into Cleveland to see Uncle Tofer, his bride-to-be as well as go to my good friends' wedding. (to each other :) )

First up was milkshakes and falfael at Tommy's. (An odd combination I know, but trust me it works. Good French Fries too.)

Next we hung out at the Godfather's place until it was time for him to scrub in and for us to go to the wedding.

Ben really liked his Aunt to be. Though I swear she does not know how to use prophylatic correctly in a sentence......

ND vs GT

Out of charity I hosted TRex over for a BBQ to watch the ND GT game. I thought a juicy burger and an ice cold root beer would lessen the pain. (Little did I know.....)

Little did we know TRex and Ben conspired to change his attire.

Go Jackets!

Have no fear though, mom and dad were in full effect.

Fortunately the good guys managed to pull it out in the end. Posted by Picasa

Childhood friends

TRex's bestest friend for ever from Mississippi came with us to Arlington. Appranetly they don't have Chipotle in Mississippi.

2nd day at the races

Took Ben for a little fun playing the ponies on Saturday.

We always bet on the pink horse. Its a foolproof system.

Ben is such a ham for the camera. Notice the shirt.(Go Irish! More on that later.)

It was so bright we got to pull out the shades.
