Staying Home

Well I stayed home with both kids on Friday...wow what a day! I would like to say it went like this the whole time...

But in reality, it was a bit more difficult and not everybody was that happy all the time. But it will get easier I am sure. Luckily we had an excursion planned to get us out of the house...thank goodness for the Children's Museum and great cousins to meet us there! Here are my and Abbey at the museum...

Ben is showing us a really cool jelly fish exhibit...

Children's Museum

On Friday we met up with Aunt Domi and Cousins Caroline, Hunter and Andrew to visit the Children's Museum. Here are Ben and Caroline off to explore the museum...

You can tell Abbey is very intrigued by the museum as well...or maybe it is being held by her fairy godmother that has her so happy!

This was Ben's favorite exhibit and is actually very similar to the toy that got Ben to say his first word (ball)...

We stayed at this exhibit for a while.

Smiley!

Abigail started smiling about a week ago, but we haven't been able to capture her beautiful smile on film until yesterday. I couldn't decide which picture showcased her smile best, so I included all of them. Hopefully we will continue to capture more of her smiles!

Bike Ride

Although we had a relaxed weekend, Daddy and Ben went on a biking adventure to the park since the weather was so nice! First they had to put on their helmets...safety first!

Next they had to make sure they were hydrated...Cheers!

Lastly they got all buckled in...

And then they were off!

Lazy Weekend...

Since we are all a little sleep deprived in our house right now, we decided to make it a low key weekend. We started off watching some Olympics...

We gave Abbey a bottle for the first time and Ben couldn't wait to help! He learned how to give a bottle in his big brother class but had to wait until now to put his skills to use. Great job Big Brother Ben!

As much as Ben enjoyed giving Abbey her bottle, he quickly grew tired of the activity and opted for his trains instead. Luckily Daddy was happy to finish the job...

More Olympics...we are slightly addicted. I actually can't wait for them to end so I can get some sleep!

1+ Month

Abigail has now past her 1 month birthday and to celebrate, she got to go to the doctor! She weighed in at an impressive 9 pounds which put her in the 50th percentile. We were impressed. She still feels so tiny to us, but she is almost as big as Ben was at his one month appointment, so she is catching up! Everything went fine with the appointment and we are going to introduce the bottle some time this week, so hopefully that will go well. Since she has gained weight, she has finally started to fit in her 0-3 month clothes! So here are a few cute pics of her in some of her dresses (which she has not been able to wear until recently because the bloomers would literally fall off her!). By the way, these pictures are all from different days - I promise I am not playing dress up with her all day long :)

She was not happy to be placed on the couch - she would much prefer to be held...

Ahh, thank you Daddy for picking her up - she is much happier now!

Loving big brother cont.....

Just one more picture from KatrinaRun's post about Ben as a loving big brother.

I think it is really cute that Ben was never interested in the baby dolls in his classroom until after Abbey came. We never got pictures of him playing with the dolls until recently. Now it seems every day we see him changing the doll's diaper or wrapping it in a blanket.

Loving Big Brother

People are finding it hard to believe that Ben has been doing so well with Abbey, so I thought I would provide some photographic evidence of how much he loves her... I promise none of these photos were staged.

Here Ben is trying to give Abbey a teddy bear (that he bought her) to comfort her when she was crying.

The other night Ben was watching Abbey play in her activity gym and try to reach for the toys. We explained to Ben that she didn't know how to grab onto toys yet. When Ben heard this, he immediately got down next to her and said "Look Abigail, this is how you do it" and grabbed onto one of the rings. A few minutes later she did grab one and we had Ben to thank for teaching her how! We can't wait to see all the things he will teach her!

Here Ben is patting her back trying to help Daddy comfort her. When she cries he says "It's OK Abbey, it's OK!"

And of course lots of hugs.

By the way, it seems as though I am the only one who thinks Ben, Abbey and I all look alike as babies considering everyone guessed correctly as to which baby was which below...oh well!

iTunes U

Ok so most of you know that at heart...(and probably on the surface) I am a huge dork, but I have to say that I am very excited about iTunes U. There looks to be quite an array of great material for your perusal, and it is FREE. I have been doing my own little lunch and learn seminars. I just wish I had applied myself this much when I was actually in college. :)

Triplets?

Who are these babies? One is Mommy, one is Ben and one is Abbey...but which one is which? They all look pretty similar if you ask me...

A typical evening at home...

Many of you have been asking how Ben is adjusting to having Abbey at home. He is still doing really well. He really likes to hold her and give her a blanket and just be close to her. I know I keep posting very similar pictures of Ben holding Abbey, but he seriously asks to hold her all the time (and then usually asks me to take their picture!). So, here is another shot of the pair of them from last night.

Here is Ben after he gave Abbey a blanket. He is actually giving her a hug in this picture to try to comfort her when she was crying...it seemed to work too!

After dinner and bath, Ben put on his PJ's and decided to play dress up with Daddy and Chien by putting beautiful Mardi Gras beads on both of them (thanks for the beads Cason!). Chien was not such a fan of this game and kept trying to eat the beads, but Daddy was able to keep him calm long enough for Ben to decorate him.

Ta Da - don't they look beautiful?
