Traveling South

Paul's cousin, Samantha, was due to get married in New Orleans the last weekend in June, so we set off on a road trip down south! The car ride went great and before we knew it, we were in Mississippi by lunch time!

We had made reservations to stay just north of Jackson in Canton.  We got there in plenty of time to take a dip in the pool and get some energy out (and cool down from the extreme southern heat...little did we know it would follow us back to Chicago!).  The next morning there happened to be a hot air balloon festival right across the road from our hotel.  So we went out to watch and it was really cool to see!

The kids really enjoyed watching them take off and fly over us.

After breakfast we got in the car and decided to do a quick trip down memory lane for Paul, who grew up in Jackson, before heading down to New Orleans.  The kids enjoyed seeing where Daddy grew up.  This is the house Paul grew up in before they moved to Jacksonville...I love this house!

And this is the house where Paul spent his early years as a baby until they moved into the house above...

After that, we made it to New Orleans in plenty of time for a swim with some cousins (or second cousins?).  Ben loving the pool...

The kids all attached themselves to Paul's Uncle Kyle who was playing in the pool with them.  It was super cute!

They were taking turns jumping to him.  Juliette especially liked him :)
