Fall Festival

One of the many reasons we love Arlington Heights is all the free community events that they put on for the residents. This includes various parades (the July 4th parade for example that we attend every year), summer kids entertainment series, concerts in the park, and various festivals. Today was the annual Fall Festival, and we were sure to attend based on the fun we had last year. They had several great crafts for the kids. Here, Ben is showing off his hat that he decorated (slightly out of the picture) and his beautiful noodle necklace.

Ben and Abbey each picked out Halloween temporary tattoos for their hands and Abbey got her face painted with a pink flower!

One of the great things is that all the activities are free! But, we did buy some popcorn for the kids to share...

Each kid got a balloon animal made for them...well, Ben got an alien, Abbey picked a flower and Juliette got a purple dog...

She was very happy with her purple dog (purple is her favorite color by the way).

Then, we did something new this year and entered the scarecrow making contest! After we got our assigned spot and picked out the clothes, Ben and Daddy got straight to work packing the clothes with hay...

And after a few last minute adjustments...

Ta Da!!! It's a little hard to see in this picture, but he is eating a peanut and his head swelled up...the caption is "Peanut Allergy"!

Here is the crew with their scarecrow - great job!

Another fun festival for our family!
